Caught In The Rain

It's going to be a long winter. Today we sat and looked out the window hoping for a break in the never ending downpour. When it finally came I practically threw the girls outside and we headed off to the park.

G's crazy run
Miriam's Excited!
It's always an adventure getting to the park. Georgina loves to splash in puddles, point out the different cars, cheer as the cars splash in the puddles and run around screaming in any general direction.
And then we finally get to the park today and it starts to pour! Of course I can't tell G it's time to go home. We just got here! So I let her play thinking this will be fun. And for a little bit it is...
Wet bridge
Wet playground
Wet bum
Wet slide
Wet baby
Georgina is so fearless at this park. And has mastered all its challenges.

Wet swings
Wet rock climbing
Wet toddler
Happy toddler
This is where it turned bad:
Water all up her pants and down inside her boots. She was having so much fun until suddenly she wasn't. Then she was crying. And so cold. Water literally poured out of her boots when she took them off at home. I threw her on the stroller and jogged home as fast as I could with a toddler propped on a single-seat stroller already occupied by a baby that shakes (the stroller not the baby) when it is pushed too fast. Both girls pretty grumpy and wet. Sadly, I didn't get any photos of the wet meltdown. But I managed to snap this as I hurried us home.
Wet ride home
When we got home I threw Georgina in a hot bath while Miriam watched some more. Poor Miriam. Being a baby, she gets left out of a lot of the fun. But she's always such a good sport about it.

Despite the wet ending it was so nice to get out of the house today. It broke the day up and made it feel like a productive, fun, eventful day even though it was only one hour out of our loooooooong day. So like today, and the day before that and the day before that, we will be back at the park tomorrow. Most likely in the rain. Because it's Vancouver.
Proof I was there
